Dirtbags Abound

Hit-and-run victim left to die in Glendale park

Talk about a real pair of standup guys. The "good samaritans" in this article should be run over and left in the middle of nowhere to die. Just what they deserve.

Anyone who would leave someone to die like that shouldn't take a dirt nap.

Discrimination?

Some time ago, a Native American woman from Arizona died for her country in Iraq. She was remembered and honored for her service and rightly so. But then came the stipidity.

For years, the Native American community has been trying to change the name of a freeway and a park in Phoenix. They say that the name is degrading to Native Americans, which they could never really prove but just wanted an excuse to protest against white people. The name was Squaw Peak. A name that had been used since before I was born.

Well, after the death of woman in Iraq, the governor of Arizona decided to name the freeway and park using her last name. I wouldn't have such a problem with it, if the governor went through the legal process. But she didn't. It is supposed to take 5 years before a name can be changed, but the governor, in order to gain Native American support for her re-election, bypassed the law and changed the name right away. I don't like the way she went about it, but I will always call the freeway and park by the old name, Squaw Peak.

If that wasn't bad enough, I just read that Arizona veterans finally after years of trying got the state to pass a bill changing the name of a highway that runs through Phoenix, renamed Arizona Veteran's Highway. But, travelers on this highway will never know it because the state won't pay to change the signs.

A freeway and a park name are changed improperly in a short period of time for one person (because it was specifically minority person), but it took years to get a highway name changed for all Arizona veterans, and they won't even pay for the signs.

Is that fair? NO! Does it make sense? It does if you are trying to get the minority to vote and that is all you care about.

John Kerry Ad

The other day I saw a political ad for John Kerry. While his typical socialist message was not surprising, it wasn't any easier to listen to.

The main message of this particular ad was healthcare. I realize that the healthcare system is a big mess, but his feel good liberal restructuring ideas would make it even worse.

To parafrase : "No one should have to struggle to get health insurance for their family...health insurance is every American's right..blah blah blah.

What he and all liberals want is socialized healthcare like in Britian where they don't pay directly for healthcare but are taxed to death for it. Healthcare is not a right. Just like most everything in this world, it is a privilege. Yes, people do struggle to get healthcare for their children and themselves. People struggle with a lot of things...to pay for college, food, clothes, a vehicle. Should the government buy everyone a car? Because some people can buy a car should they be taxed to buy a poor person a car? Of course not. If they can buy two cars, should they be forced to give one away to someone who can't? Of course not. But that is what they want to do.

It all goes back to the same liberal montra. Take from the rich and give to the poor.

They don't live in reality. The liberals want a society like in the story of Harrison Bergeron. They made everyone equal in all apects. If someone had great vision, they had to wear glasses that blurred their eyes. If they were really smart, they had to wear a device on their head that interfered with their brain waves. If they were strong, they had to wear weights. Is that how people really want to live?

Having the opportunity to be the best you can be...to strive for your goals and be rewarded is what made this country great. If there is no incentive to do your best, then you won't be. If someone who works hard to improve their life gets the same as someone who doesn't work, then what is the point in working hard? There is none.

So, if you want to live in a socialist country, move...don't make this great country into one.

Job Interviews

I went on two job interviews the other day. I prefer to remain a stay-at-home Dad, but circumstances won't allow it. I have to return to the job market.

I haven't been on an interview in three years. Consequently I forgot all the stupid questions they ask. Well, they seem stupid to me, but from an employer standpoint, they seem logical.

Luckily they were both for Graphic/Production positions. The second interview started at 1:30 and I didn't leave till after 4pm. Mentally exhausting.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Describe your personality. Why did you leave this position or that position. What kind of managing style do you prefer. Do you answer them truthfully or answer the way you think they want you to?

One woman in the interview process had an extremely limp handshake. Like a piece of lettuce that had been left out a day or so. The next woman tried to squeeze my hand off. Crazy stuff.

I am not going to expect a call back from either of them. I was too rusty in the interviews.

Back to the job boards.

Ooops!

Have you ever gone to the bathroom and ment to lift the lid only and lifted the lid and seat and sat your butt in the water? I embarassed myself in front of myself.

Reminds me of an Austin Powers quote: "...Allow myself to introduce......myself. My name is Richie Cunningham and this is my wife, Oprah.

Beef bouillon cubes. Its what's for dinner.

When I was little, my older brother and sister taught me two bad habbits. According to my wife, they are both strange. I have never heard of anyone other than my family doing them, but then again, I never asked around either.

The first bad habbit was table salt. My older brother and sister used to pour an amount of salt onto a small piece of foil and then wrap it up and suck on it. Sounds crazy, I know, but it is true. And I also engaged in that bizarre habbit or ritual, take your pick. I stopped when one day while suckin on my ball of salt, I swallowed it. Scared me to death. Maybe I will develope some sort of mental problems because of the foil.

The second, and still active, is the act of eating bouillon cubes. Maybe I have an addiction to salt. When I was a kid, again my older brother and sister would sneak a palm full of crushed bouillon and share it with me and my younger brother (who also eats bouillon cubes). I guess the little granules of bouillon were not enough becasue they moved on to whole cubes, as did I. They don't engage in that activity anymore as far as I know, but occasionally, I do. I am overcome by an urge to suck on a cube once in a while. Beef flavor of course.

But these days, I can't find hard cubes. They are either low sodium or fast disolving..Yuck! Sometimes I will even eat sea salt if it comes in little chunks...maybe my wife is right. I am crazy. Maybe I am the only one in the world that does this. Maybe I am the product of an alien abduction.

This is one man's opinion.

PS. Don't worry, I am not passing this on to my children.

Great Quotes From President Reagan

Great quotes from a great man

Some of my favoite:

"The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

"Politics is not a bad profession. If you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book."
(this one pertains to Bill Clinton)

"Politics is supposed to be the second oldest profession. I have come to realize that it bears a very close resemblance to the first."

The Truth About Taxes

An article by Gail Buckner, CFP on the Fox News website
(http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,121811,00.html) illustrates the the that Republicans have been trying to get across to the people for years.

Almost all of the tax revenue comes from the highest tax bracket. The poor pay no taxes. I should know. My wife and I got almost all the money that was taken out last year in taxes, and we didn't make that much.

If you tell a lie long enough, people will take it as true. Just like the liberals have done with their "the rich don't pay their fair share of the taxes" montra.

Why is it always the top tax bracket liberals whine and cry that the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes? Maybe they feel guilty that they have money and others don't. If that is the case, then why don't they give their money to those who don't?

My brother told me that he read where the United Nations wants the United States citizens to pay a world tax because it isn't fair that US citizens pay less taxes than those of other nations. Something that Sen. John Kerry if president, would probably go along with.

I will have to investigate this further.

Ford to Pay $369M to Paralyzed Woman

The award in this case, $369 million has nothing to do with the safety of the Explorer. It has everything to do with greed, wanting to "stick it" to the rich guy and environmentalist wackos. The accident, while tragic, was not the fault of Ford.

1)

"...The Explorer meets or exceeds all Federal safety standards. There is no defect with the Explorer,' spokeswoman Kathleen Vokes said. 'The Explorer is an outstanding vehicle with a solid safety record..."

If this is true and the Explorer meets all federal regulations, then according to the law, there is nothing wrong with it. If they truely believe that the vehicle is dangerous, then fight to have the federal regulations changed so that future vehicles will be safer. The reason this was not done is they couldn't get any money from the government.

2)

A few years ago, I had an opportunity to participate in a "mock jurry" trial. It was held by the top medical malpractice law firms here. Before going to actual trial, to get possible jurry reactions, they held a mock trial. They invited a number of people to become"jurrists". The lawyers gave their arguments before the "jurry" and then the separated the people into about 4 different jurries and videotaped their processes. The group that I was with, almost unanimously found for the patient without any discussion. They didn't care about the evidence. Most were concerned only with the emotions of the husband losing his wife and the kids living without a mother. I heard and saw the same evidence they did and there was no clear fault of the hospital or doctors. Many of the other "jurrists", after all but me and another, found the doctor and hospital responsible, wanted to award the husband $200-300 million. They actually said that they wanted to stick it to the rich guy...they had plenty of money, why shouldn't the husband and kids get some. At first, I couldn't believe it, but then I remembered that most people don't care about the truth or facts (otherwise Bill Clinton would not have been elected for a first term). They let their emotions rule the day.

And in the case with Ford, that is what happened also.

3)

Envrionmentalsit wackos. Anytime they can get a win in their misguided crusade against the evil SUV, they happier they are. I used to work with a few and their montra, and personal profile are always the same. After 9/11 they were following the wacos chant that people who drive SUVs were putting money in the pockets of terrorists. A load of crap just like everything else the environmentalists stand for.

Because the SUV didn't get 30+ miles to gallon they were somehow helping terrorism buy spending more for gas. I pointed out the them the error in their argument. I asked them if they put gas in their car and they said yes. Then I pointed out that if the SUV owner buys gas and his money goes to the terrorists, then how is the money the spend on putting gas in their economy car get separated from the SUV owners money and go somewhere else. If the SUV owners money was going to support terrorism, then theirs was too, just not as much. They still did not want to admit ther argument was stupid and showed how ignorant they were. They were typical liberals.

Doing the right thing is not easy, otherwise more people would do it.

Death March?

Activists plan to march from the US-Mexico border 75 miles to Tucson in protest of the deaths of illegal aliens. The illegals died while crossing the desert after entering the United States illegally. According to the activists, it is the fault of the United States that these people died. Not enough (like water and aid stations), they say, was done to prevent their deaths and this "march" will bring attention to their plight...What a load of crap.

Some may call me racist, or a bigot, but that would be farthest from the truth. I am a US citizen and every US citizen has the right to get upset about illegals coming into this country without being harassed for it. We shouldn't feel sorry for people who die because the break the law. If the activists don't want anymore to die in the desert, then help to prevent them from coming into this country illegally instead of making it easier for them.

The last time I checked, the United States is a soverign country and it is against the law to enter without going through proper procedures.

I am tired of reading in the news of another safe house for illegals being raided and finding 60-100 of them living there. I am tired of going to the store and seeing dozens of them standing around the parking lot waiting for someone to offer then day work. Activists whined so much that the city built them a migrant worker center with taxpayer money where they can congrigate and wait for work. All the time I hear about some illegal claiming their rights were violated...they have no rights...they are not citizens of the United States. I am tired to going to McDonalds and not being able to order because the person taking my order can't speak English. I am tired of the voting ballots printed in English and Spanish. If you can't read English, then you shouldn't be voting. I am tired of seeing in the news where the suspects of major crimes are Mexican Nationals here illegally.

I am not racist. If Mexican citizens want to come the this country, I don't care, just go through the proper channels, otherwise, stay out.
And I don't want people to die in the desert, but if they die trying sneak into this country illegally, it is their own fault.

This is one man's opinion.
